*Underwater Storytelling

Storytelling below sea level.
This year, National Geographic travels the world to the depths of the Earth’s oceans to deliver awe-inspiring specials about our planet’s deep blue seas and those who inhabit them. Premiering on Disney+, National Geographic series Secrets of the Whales, from executive producer and National Geographic Explorer-at-Large James Cameron, narrated by Sigourney Weaver, presents the work of acclaimed National Geographic Explorer and photographer Brian Skerry, as he chronicles the beautiful world of whales highlighting their challenges and triumphs; Pristine Seas: The Power of Protection follows project founder and National Geographic Explorer-in-Residence Enric Sala and a team of marine biologists, fellow explorers and filmmakers as they travel the world in a race to save our oceans; And from National Geographic’s highly-anticipated, ninth annual Sharkfest, two of the fiercest women -- underwater cinematographer Valerie Taylor and marine biologist Melissa Marquez -- will uncover the world’s most fascinating shark behaviors. This panel will dive into the expansive and emotional side of their unprecedented work; the challenges facing the world’s oceans today; and what it is like to film in the deep blue
